Sorry for being absent for some time, but I've been uber-busy.

And you know what happens when I'm busy....  That's right, I sketch.

This one is based off of a piece of fanfiction I've been writting for about a year now, on and off. I don't think I'll ever finish it... I'm only 70 pages in and about 1/10 done.... Lol. It's a pretty massive project, actually. It's H/Hr, of course, and it's based off of, what I consider, the best video game ever created; Knights of the Old Republic... and I'm not even a Star Wars fan! Anywho, here it is:

It's pretty rough, especially the hair, which I vow to learn how to do over the summer. But I like Harry's cloak and skin, which I tried something new on. It's based off a picture I saw once of Padame and Anakin, but I don't have a saved copy, nor do I know where I saw it... Alas, such is life.

EDIT: Messed around a bit with the hair... still not happy, but eventually, I will draw some hair that I'm happy with. XD

The Hush Sound came out with a new CD last week. It= their best yet, by far.

It seems the busier I am, the more inspired I am. Such is life. Today I drew a more refined sketch. Yay! I was working on getting the clothing to look right, as I usually have a hard time with creases and such. I think that bit turned out well, but I'm still horrid at hair! When I get my graphics tablet, I'll work on that. Anyways, it's Harry and Hermione, and it's from a scene in a story I'm writing now... or trying to write now. XD And in case you're wondering, in the scene Hermione is showing Harry her skills at the tango, Harry's just hanging on for the ride, and there's some powerful magic making their hair stick up. And yes, he's not wearing his glasses... but there's a reason for that too. I promise. ^^ I got the idea from a phone ad, actually. Lol.

P.S. Headlight's new CD came out yesterday and it's amazing!!!

Subject:Another Rough (!) Sketch and some Icons.
Time:11:02 pm

Well, I have three tests this week, but has that stopped me from doing random doodles all the time? Of course not. In fact, this is the second one I've colored and posted on here. It's also my second H/Hr sketch in the past few days... which is odd, considering I never draw them. Eh, either way... here it is. And let me again warn that this is a rough sketch. I doddled this in less than 15 minutes and then colored it quickly. So yes, don't expect a masterpiece! One of these days, I swear (when I get a proper scanner and my graphics tablet) I'm going to post something other than a rough sketch on here.

In other news, I decided I might as well post some of the icons I've made, some recent, some rather old.

Oh, I was so tired of studying, so I drew this, really, really, really quickly. Did I mention this was done really quickly? Normally, I wouldn't post it, but I rather liked the idea behind the sketch.
In case it isn't obvious, from left to right that's Harry, Ron, and Hermione.

And I made an icon out of it. ^^

Subject:It's Time for Some Music Recs

A few new music recs:

1. Lightspeed Champion- An interesting project by former Test Icicle, Devonte Hynes that focuses on emotionally-charged, introspective lyrics and interesting guitar strumming. His tunes are not only catching, but really deep. I especially love the songs that colaborate with Florence-- their harmony together is fantastic. I'd recommend checking out the song, The Flesh Failures (actually a cover) and Dry Lips, both of which you can download here: http://plagueofangels.blogspot.com/2008/01/lightspeed-champion.html

2. Throw Me the Statue- This is just a fun band. Don't look for especially complex lyrics here, but watch out for songs you can't help but tap your toes to and, after you learn the lyrics, sing along. A few MP3s and more info can be found here: http://stereogum.com/archives/band-to-watch/band-to-watch-throw-me-the-statue_007007.html

3. Anathallo- I feel like I must have recommended Anathallo before, but I can't recall doing so. Just incase, I figured I might as well add them to this list. If you're looking for amazing combinations of multiple instruments, lyrics you can really appreciate when the meaning becomes clear, and a soft, smooth, lead voice, than look no further, Anathallo is the band for you. Don't expect upbeat rhythms or fast-paced guitars; Anathallo is very chill, for the most part. But still, a great band for people into the indie scene. I'd check out their CD Floating World, especially my favorite track 'A Great Wind More Ash' (found here: http://www.bbqchickenrobot.com/music/Hanasakajijii.mp3

4. Oh No! Oh My!- Another fun band, but even more so than Throw Me the Statue. With lyrics making light Star Wars characters ("Yes, you are my only hope. Oh Be One, you're my only hope"), how can this band not be great? I have no links for you aside from their myspace page though.  http://www.myspace.com/ohnoohmyband Recommended for fans of Los Campesinos and Page France-esque bands.

5. Casper and the Cookies- I've only just heard about this band a few weeks ago, even though they've been around for a while. I'm not sure how their other CDs are, but I've rather enjoyed The Optimist's Club, which is, I believe, their latest CD and eclectic indie pop at its greatest. The CD is rather ranged, but my favorite is 'Barking in the Garden of Ill-Repute' because it makes me want to get up and dance. Check out http://www.myspace.com/casperthecookies . Fans of They Might Be Giants may like this band.

6. Kimya Dawson- I've not yet seen Juno, but if you have, then you've heard Kimya Dawson, as she takes up much of the soundtrack. Kimya is one of those interesting artists that don't have a particularly good voice or original lyrics, but still manages to make great songs. I don't understand it, nor do I try to... I just listen! My favorite is My Rollercoaster, if only because of the inclusion of a few second Edwin McCain cover (I'll Be) and other various clips.  http://www.myspace.com/kimyadawson

I think that's enough for now. ^^

I drew something new today. It started out as Harry and Hermione, and I suppose it could still be them (with a no-glasses Harry) but nevertheless, it morphed into something I wasn't exactly planning. I'm semi-pleased with it... even though my stupid scanner is terrible and doesn't get the shading right at all.... Argh. Anyways, here it is:

They're supposed to be at the beach. XD

New music rec: Cocoon-- a band from France! Their newest CD (My Friends All Died in a Plane Crash) is fantastic. Check it out!

One last thing. A friend of mine had a picture drawn for me in the form of a comission from this very story from chapter 4. The artists' name is gammyun on GaiaOnline.com, so here it is:

I rather like it. ^^

Also, I've started posting my story on Portkey, with the help of my beta: Ivesia19, so here's that link:

That's right; I finished this stupid piece of fiction I've been working on for ages now. I'm really not sure how I feel about it, or if I'm going to bother and get it beta-ed to post on Portkey, but I figure I've been talking about it long enough on LJ, so I'll post it. Or at least, the first 2 chapters for now. There are 13 in total.

Title: In Our Bedroom, After the War
Summary: Not all wars are fought on the battlefield—some we must fight within ourselves.  A post-epilogue story of endings, beginnings, and, ultimately, growth.
Rating: R-ish (for language)
Warning: Not beta-ed yet!

And that's all I'm allowed to post it seems.
More later.
Cheers!
